Allie Newton
Owner, OT
Allie is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of experience working with children with special needs. As a pediatric occupational therapist Allie has worked in various settings including school based, private clinic, non-profit clinic, daycares and homes. Allie has conducted evaluations and treatment for children with a variety of diagnoses including: Sensory processing disorder Autism Spectrum Disorder ADHD Down Syndrome Hemiplegia Developmental Delay Cerebral Palsy Dyspraxia Difficulties with behavioral modulation and emotional regulation Delays in play and/or social skills Fine Motor Delays Visual Perceptual difficulties Allie is a DIR Floortime certified therapist. DIR Floortime is an intervention that is used to promote an individual's development through a play based approach and emphasizing the child’s interests. DIR values individual differences (neurodiversity) and helping every person achieve their fullest potential using a developmental approach. She also has experience with oral motor feeding techniques and sensory integration/sensory diets. Allie is also specially trained in: Handwriting Without Tears protocol Sensational Brain (sensory processing and self-regulation) The Zones of Regulation protocol. Allie is from the bluegrass state and a graduate from Spalding University in KY with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Allie started off her college years knowing she wanted to work with children and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. In her freetime she enjoys playing disc golf, baking, crocheting, sewing, and anything craft related! She is excited to work with your family and to use her years of experience, creativity and play-based approaches to help your child reach their highest potential

Julie Brochetti

Julie is a dedicated pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant who truly believes in every child's potential. Her mission is to help children overcome barriers to engaging in meaningful daily activities, whether that’s through play, school, or self-care. With a child-led approach, Julie focuses on each child's unique strengths and learning styles, ensuring that they feel empowered in their journey. After completing her Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy in 2020 at Radford University, Julie gained invaluable experience working with a diverse group of individuals. She implemented group therapy in an adult inpatient psychiatric hospital and volunteered in the Fun with Friends classroom, where she connected with children of all abilities. In 2022, she earned her Associate’s degree to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Radford University Carilion. There, she has worked with children aged 10 months to 37 years, using sensory integration and self-regulation techniques to foster optimal engagement. Julie has additional experience working with older adults in skilled nursing facilities, helping them navigate recovery from surgeries while addressing psychosocial barriers with care. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s degree to become a Occupational Therapist at Radford University Carilion. She is eager to expand her skills further by becoming certified in Reflex Integration, DIR Floortime, and aquatic therapy once she graduates. Outside of work and school, Julie loves to express her creativity through coloring, painting, and a variety of crafts. She loves time spent with her fiancé and their two dogs, Zeppelin and Dixie, on long walks.

Julia Jennings

Julia is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist who is passionate about helping children and their families improve their life skills through fun and functional play. She holds a Masters degree from Radford University and is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. With over seven years of experience, she has conducted evaluations and treatment for children with Developmental Delays, Sensory Processing Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and other disorders affecting motor, sensory, and cognitive function. She believes that play is the work of the child and treatment should be centered around client interests and family values. Outside of work, Julia enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking, and learning how to garden/keep her house plants alive.

Hannah DeHart

Hannah is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience working with a range of populations and disabilities from adult care in skilled nursing facilities to pediatric care in daycare settings. With a passion for helping children thrive through Occupational Therapy, Hannah has created individualized therapy plans tailored to each child’s unique needs with an emphasis on collaboration with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure a supportive and holistic environment for every child’s success. Hannah has provided Occupational Therapy services in Head Start daycare programs working with children with a variety of diagnoses including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delay, Fine Motor Delays, and Sensory Processing Disorder. She has had some experience with sensory integration techniques, The Zones of Regulation, and Handwriting without Tears. She is very interested in becoming certified in the DIRFloortime® model due to the emphasis on relationship building and promoting developmental growth through play. Hannah received her Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA and continued her education by earning her Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from Radford University Carilion in Roanoke, VA in order to pursue her passion to help others. During this time she volunteered with UNC Rockinghams pediatric clinic, Children's Assistive Technology Services, and the Student Occupational Therapy Association furthering her interest in working with children and gaining more experience with evidence-based practices for pediatric therapy. In her free time she enjoys cooking new recipes, enjoying live music, watercolor painting, transforming old furniture, spending time with her two dogs, and traveling with her husband. She is excited to collaborate with families and create engaging, child-centered therapy experiences that foster growth, confidence, and independence for every child she has the privilege to work with!

Ashley Pruett

Ashley is a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with a passion for helping neurodivergent individuals thrive. With over 20 years of experience working with children, Ashley has served as a preschool instructor in an inclusive setting, provided respite care for medically complex and neurodivergent children both in-home and within the community, and even acted as a direct liaison for Roanoke City students when school was virtual during the pandemic. For nearly 15 years, Ashley worked with individuals with a wide range of disabilities in assisted living facilities, where she was dedicated to helping them achieve their fullest potential by providing direct support and overcoming individualized barriers. Ashley's approach to occupational therapy is centered on the belief that every child deserves to be understood and supported in a way that honors their individuality. She prioritizes connection over compliance, recognizing that meaningful progress happens when children feel safe, understood, and engaged. Ashley uses play as a primary tool for learning because it’s through play that children explore, express themselves, and build essential skills in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. Rooted in neuro-affirming practices, she strives to create an environment where each child's unique strengths are recognized and nurtured, working closely with families to develop strategies that support their child's growth and well-being in everyday life. Ashley earned her Associate in Health Science from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN, and has experience in both school and home-based settings. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her cheering on her sons at their football and basketball games or spending time with her beloved dog and cat. She is loves animals, documentaries, and binge watching Grey’s Anatomy. Ashley looks forward to supporting children in meeting their goals and collaborating closely with their families to ensure success.

Rebekah Gibby

Rebekah graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in May of 2024. Rebekah has always been passionate about helping others, striving to help each individual feel seen, loved, and cared for no matter what! Rebekah has a huge heart for working with kids and their families, as nothing beats their smiles when they are proud of themselves! Her love for Occupational Therapy began at a young age when her brother received an ASD diagnosis and began receiving occupational therapy services to increase his independence throughout life. Seeing how much of a positive impact OT had in not only her brother’s life but within their whole family is something that Rebekah will forever be grateful for! Rebekah cannot wait to give back to the families and children she works with as we collaboratively work towards achieving their goals, independence, and confidence in fun and creative ways! No two individuals are the same, and that’s exactly how she approaches treatment—tailored to each person’s unique goals, interests, and strengths Rebekah is married to her forever love, Jackson, and has a sweet pup, Boone. She recently moved to Roanoke, VA and in her free time, she loves trying new coffee shops, reading, baking, hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway traveling to new places, and spending quality time with friends and her family!

Courtney Underwood

Courtney is a dedicated and compassionate pediatric occupational therapist with over a decade of experience in helping children achieve their full potential. She holds a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from Radford University and is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Courtney specializes in working with children who have developmental delays, sensory processing issues, and other challenges that affect their daily activities. Her approach is holistic and child-centered, focusing on creating individualized treatment plans that incorporate play-based therapy and family involvement. Courtney's warm demeanor and creative methods have earned her the trust of countless families and the admiration of her colleagues.

Emily Wilson
OT
Emily is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, she has had years of experience working with children in a handful of capacities including babysitting, nannying, teaching swim lessons, and being a camp counselor for children with various abilities and needs. As a student, Emily has had experience working in various pediatric settings including a pediatric outpatient clinic, homes, schools, and daycares. Emily has conducted evaluations and/or treatments for children with a variety of diagnoses including: Autism Spectrum Disorder Developmental Delay ADHD Sensory Processing Disorder Fine Motor Delays Difficulties with emotional regulation Visual Perceptual Difficulties At this time, Emily does not have any special certifications, however she hopes to soon become certified in SOS Approach to Feeding, which as an approach that helps children who are picky eaters and children with problematic feeding behaviors by treating the “whole child”, including organ systems, muscles/oral motor, sensory processing, learning, behavior, cognition, development, nutrition, and environment. In addition to this certification, Emily is also interested in becoming certified in Aquatic Therapy. Emily has had some experience with training in The Zones of Regulation and with Handwriting without Tears. Emily is originally from Tennessee and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and continued her education by receiving her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy at Milligan University in Johnson City, TN. She has always had a desire to help and serve people as well as an interest in working with children. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, painting and drawing and making crafts, walking her dog, running, and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to work with your child and your family and use her experience to help your child play, grow, learn, and achieve their highest potential.
