  3. An occupational therapist will arrive to your home or at the child’s day care with evaluations typically lasting an hour

  4. The occupational therapist will ask you questions about difficulties the child is having as well as the child’s strengths

  5. The occupational therapist will assess skills of your child by using assessments and observation (this may seem like play because our occupational therapists do an incredible job of creating an engaging, fun, and non-stressful environment)

  • Therapists use a variety of formal and informal assessment tools including developmental history, observation, oral motor function, sensory function, vestibular function, and visual motor function, and standardized tests to obtain a comprehensive picture of your child’s skills and will create a customized treatment plan with goals specific to your child’s needs.

  • After the evaluation, your child’s therapist will follow up with you to discuss the results of the evaluation and make recommendations for your child. You will receive a copy of your child’s evaluation report from your child’s therapist. Goals and treatment plans are specific and measurable so that your child’s progress can be tracked. Communication is highly important to us so please be sure to reach out to your child’s therapist with any questions or concerns.
