Allie Newton, MS, OTR/L is a pediatric occupational therapist, speaker, educator, and founder of Hands On Play Pediatric Therapy. With more than a decade of experience working with children and families, Allie specializes in helping adults look beneath behavior to understand the nervous-system, sensory, developmental, emotional, and executive-function needs that may be driving it.

Her approach combines occupational therapy, DIR/Floortime principles, Collaborative & Proactive Solutions, developmental play, and practical parent coaching. She is especially passionate about emotional regulation, ADHD and executive functioning, sensory processing, and helping parents and professionals move away from compliance-based approaches toward understanding the skills and needs underneath behavior.

Allie founded Hands On Play Pediatric Therapy in Southwest Virginia and has grown the practice from a solo mobile service into a multidisciplinary pediatric therapy team serving families throughout the region.

In addition to her clinical and leadership work, Allie teaches and speaks on childhood regulation, play, behavior, sensory processing, and neuroaffirming approaches to supporting children.
